Hiking with a Dog in the High Tatras

According to the latest decree valid from December 15th, 2023, the movement of pets in the territory of the Tatra National Park has been limited. However, you can still get to locations with your pet that are popular among visitors to our mountains.

It is now allowed to enter the Tatra National Park accompanied by animals only outside locations with marmot colonies, locations with the permanent presence of chamois herds, and locations where large beasts and other rare and endangered animal species occur.

Dogs are allowed on these hiking trails:

1. Lysá Poľana – Horáreň v Bielovodskej doline – blue trail

2. Tatranská Javorina – rázcestie pod Muráňom – green trail

3. Tatranská Javorina – horáreň pod Muráňom – blue trail

4. Strednica, Ždiar – Ptošovské turne – village Ždiar – green trail

5. Tatranská Kotlina – Šumivý prameň – green trail

6. Tatranská Kotlina – Kežmarské Žľaby – blue trail

7. Biela Voda – Šalviový prameň – yellow trail

8. Tatranské Matliare – Šalviový prameň – blue trail

9. Tatranské Matliare – Tatranská Lomnica – yellow trail

10. Tatranská Lomnica – Skalnaté pleso – green trail

11. Tatranská Lomnica – Vodopády Studeného potoka – blue trail
