The Tatra Electric Railway (TEŽ) in the High Tatras provides transport on the lines Poprad-Tatry – Starý Smokovec – Štrbské Pleso and Starý Smokovec – Tatranská Lomnica. Since February 2022, new hybrid trams – cogwheels have also been operating on these lines, but they primarily operate on the Štrba – Štrbské Pleso section.

The trams have seating and standing areas, air conditioning, ticket validators, waste bins, bike and ski racks, space for strollers, information maps and luggage storage. Each stop is announced via loudspeaker and the next stop, along with the final stop, is always displayed on a light board in two parts of each tram.

Cog railway (OŽ)

The reconstruction brought new hybrid cars to the line in 2022 - Bradavica, Vysoká, Stredohrot, Kostolík, Ganek.

All stops (OŽ): ŠTRBA – TATRANSKÝ LIESKOVEC – ŠTRBSKÉ PLESO

The rack railway in the High Tatras transports passengers on the Štrba – Štrbské Pleso line. Štrba, like Poprad, is an important tourist starting point for the High Tatras. It is a railway where the traction force is transferred by a gear wheel that engages a toothed rack in the axis of the track. In 2022, the three old units were replaced by five new hybrid trams - cogs, which bear the names of the lesser-known peaks of the High Tatras and, in addition to OŽ, can also run on TEŽ.

The carriages have seating and standing areas, air conditioning, ticket validators, ticket machines (card payment only), waste bins, electrical outlets, bicycle and ski racks, space for strollers, information boards and luggage storage. Each stop is announced via loudspeaker and the next stop, along with the final one, is always displayed on a television screen in two parts of each tram.

There are no toilets in the carriages.
