Zbojnícka chata works all year-round. It’s situated in the Veľká Studená dolina. It’s a valley with the largest number of tarns (26) of different sizes and characters. It’s rich in Tatras fauna and flora. There is a countless amount of hiking, climbing, skitouring and research activities here that one can do in a summer as well as a winter season. The chalet has a character of a tourist hostel/dormitory. It offers bunk beds with a capacity of 16 people, but in case of emergency there is room for others. Guests have the opportunity to prepare their own meals in a small kitchen at the dormitory, where are gas cooker, service water and drier available. Toilets are in the outdoor area behind the chalet. The kitchen is also open all year round for all visitors. The dining room with fireplace can be used by 48 diners. It’s possible to stay without meals, with breakfast, dinner or half board. The chalet is supplied by mountain bearers. The chalet is a mountain rescue service station. Zbojnícka chata is a resting place for those who come from Hrebienok, from Malá Studená dolina via Priečne sedlo, or from Bielovodská dolina via Prielom.
